1 free-range egg

150ml/5fl oz lactose free milk

1 tbsp caster sugar

½ tsp ground cinnamon

2 slices gluten free white bread

25g/1oz lactose free butter

To serve

1 orange, peeled and sliced

icing sugar, for dusting

2 tbsp maple syrup

3 tbsp lactose free double cream (optional)


Whisk the egg, lactose free milk, sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl until well combined, then soak the gluten free bread slices in the mixture.

Melt the lactose free butter in a frying pan, add the gluten free bread slices and fry for 1-2 minutes on both sides, or until golden-brown all over.

To serve, arrange the orange slices on a serving plate, place the toast on top and dust with icing sugar. Drizzle over the maple syrup and lactose free cream.
